Dr. Oliva earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida and her medical degree from the University of South Florida, where she remains a member of the prestigious medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha.  She completed an Internship in Internal Medicine, a Residency in Ophthalmology and a Fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the University of South Florida in Tampa.  Throughout her comprehensive training, she has operated with several of the world’s leading eye surgeons.  Her excellence as a physician has been highlighted by her service as chief resident, multiple publications in highly regarded medical journals and presentations of advanced independent research at several major national ophthalmology conferences.

Dr. Oliva is skilled with the most cutting-edge surgical techniques and specializes in femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery, newer technology intraocular lens implants, corneal transplants and other disorders of the lens and cornea.  She is also an expert in dry eye disorders, photorefractive keratotomy and complex cataracts.  She has extensive experience in the surgical correction of astigmatism and refractive error.  Dr. Oliva is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Cornea Society, Florida Society of Ophthalmology and Tampa Bay Ophthalmologic Society.
