Dr. David Nichols earned his Bachelor of Science degree magna cum laude with Departmental and General Honors in Engineering Science from the University of Miami in Florida, and his Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Miami, graduating first in his class and being inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Nichols then continued his training with an Internship at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, and a Residency in Ophthalmology at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Board certified in Ophthalmology, Dr. Nichols has been a staff member at the Brandon Cataract Center & Eye Clinic since 1985. He is the Medical Executive Chairman of the Brandon Surgery Center as well. Dr. Nichols is the author of several publications based on research in his field of ophthalmologic specialty.
